Mac? OS X? Leopard from Apple? is the sixth public release of their groundbreaking operating system. It offers over 300 new features and enhancements over the previous version, 10.4 Tiger. Though it is a popular alternative to Windows?, Leopard includes Boot Camp technology which can run select versions of Microsoft? Windows operating systems on a separate partition.
- Visual enhancements
Apple is well-known for their design expertise. That's why the new Leopard offers an improved user interface. When multiple programs are open, the system vertically stacks related windows as opposed to cluttering your dock. The improved Finder utilizes the Cover Flow interface, just like how iTunes scrolls through album covers. - Safety and security
If you use an additional hard drive, the new Time Machine feature offers a backup service that can keep and save archived copies of either your entire system or just specific files. It monitors changes to your files, and backs those up too. Leopard also features parental controls, which include content filtering, activity logs, and time limits. - Convenient features
The Quick Look interface lets you browse through your files without opening them, and it works with nearly every file on your system. Apple's own blazing-fast web browser, Safari, is included, and you can even install certain versions of Windows using Boot Camp.
